| L'objectif de ce programme était de mettre au point une technique d'élevage pour les Pectinidés en Méditerranée afin de diversifier la conchyliculture en mer ouverte limitée jusqu'à présent à la mytiliculture. C'est pourquoi des essais ont été conduits pour évaluer les possibilités de croissance des trois espéces Pecten maximus, Pecten jacobaeus et Patinopecten yessoensis à partir de naissain d'écloserie. Ce programme a permis de réaliser une structure d'élevage pour fonds non protégés qui résiste aux tempêtes mais qui reste difficile à manipuler dans de mauvaises conditions de mer. | Marine mollusc shell growth has been widely measured using fluorochrome marking. In order to test the efficiency and reliability of calcein staining on P. margaritifera shells and pearls, the present study examined two administration methods, different concentrations and several immersion times.Immersion in a 150 mg.L-1 calcein solution for 12 h to 24 h appeared to be the best method for marking P. margaritifera shells. For pearl marking, injection of a 200 mg.L-1 calcein solution into the pearl pouch was the optimal method. | Cryopreservation is a useful tool for genetic improvement which has been applied to several bivalve mollusk species. It would allow to keep the gametes of selected individuals and to preserve ex-situ the biodiversity of wild populations of the black-lip pearl oyster Pinctada margaritifera threatened of standardization by the seed transfers between the islands in French Polynesia. | Cryopreservation is a valuable tool for genetic improvement programs. Several bivalve mollusc species have already been the subject of such programs and the Tahitian black pearl oyster industry is now planning the development of selective breeding for desirable traits in Pinctada margaritifera. The ability to cryopreserve spermatozoa would, therefore, offer significant benefits to the cultured black pearl industry. | The effect of the feeding period on larval development was investigated in European sea bass larvae by considering the expression level of some genes involved in morphogenesis. Larvae were fed a control diet except during three different periods (period A: from 8 to 13 d post-hatching (dph); period B: from 13 to 18 dph; period C: from 18 to 23 dph) with two compound diets containing high levels of vitamin A or PUFA. | Ces travaux de recherche ont mis en évidence l'existence de terrains propices au développement de la conchyliculture en Basse Normandie. C'est ainsi qu'en Baie des Veys, par exemple, la surface ostréicole concédée est passée de 12 ha en 1969 à 162 ha en 1989 ou que, les zones ostréicoles de Lestre, de Crasville et de Meuvaines ont été créées de toutes pièces. Toutes les conditions étaient donc remplies pour que l'on assiste à la création de très nombreuses petites entreprises de production et donc à un développement rapide de celle-ci. |

| Une approche socio-économique a permis de classer en 5 catégories les exploitations conchylicoles de la côte est du Cotentin. Parallèlement, une stratégie d'échantillonnage a été mise au point dans cette zone. Dans chacune des 20 strates, la densité des poches et la composition du stock (naissain , 18 mois, ... ) ont été évaluées, ce qui a permis d'estimer à 12 900 tonnes le stock d'huîtres en élevage en 1989 et 1990. |

| L'ostréiculture sur la côte Ouest Cotentin a été étudiée à partir d'estimations des stocks en élevage et de suivis de populations entre 1990 et 1992. A partir de stratégies d'échantillonnages, les stocks en élevage ont été estimés à 33 556 et 35 542 t respectivement en 1990 et 1991. Sur une production normande annuelle totalisant 34 914 tonnes, 53% a été produit sur la côte Ouest Cotentin en 1990. Un modèle global d'aménagement est proposé définissant la relation entre les performances de croissance mesurées, les cheptels en élevage, le niveau d'émersion, et la distance par rapport aux principales sources d'éléments nutritifs terrigènes. | Triploid oysters Crassllstrea gigas were: produced in 1990 by treating fertilized eggs with cytochalasin B (CS). Triploids, treated diploids, and controls were deployed early 1991 in a high carrying capacity ecosystem on the Eastern Coast of Normandy (France). A monthly monitoring in 1992 showed that triploids yielded significantly higher growth rate and biochemical composition. However, growth was more heterogeneous. | Au cours de cette deuxième année du programme « Coquille Saint-Jacques en Méditerranée » , a été achevée la mise au point des conteneurs d'élevage utilisables en mer ouverte dans le Golfe du Lion. Chaque conteneur en acier galvanisé mesure 2,5 m x 2,5 m x 1,7 m et pèse à vide 500 kg. Il supporte 120 poches d'élevage de type poches ostréicoles. Ces conteneurs sont adaptés aux nouvelles barges myticoles. Pour l'espèce Atlantique Pecten maximus de bons résultats ont été obtenus lors du prégrossissement qui consiste à amener les juvéniles d'une taille de 1 à 2 mm à une taille de 30 à 40 mm en 8 à 10 mois.
